- I presume you mean the Microsoft TCP/IP that loads DOS (real mode) drivers.
- That implementation consumes a LOT of low memory, substantially reducing
- the resource space available for Windows. I suggest you try the new beta
- version of MS TCP-32. It is a 32-bit protected mode VxD that consumes no
- "real mode" memory, and it's winsock.dll only takes about 59k of Windows
- memory while a TCP/IP app is running, then it unloads. It's also very easy
- to install - just like adding any other protocol through the standard
- Network Setup icon. It's mtcp1b.exe, in /peropsys/WFW/tcpip/vxdbeta, at
- ftp.microsoft.com.
